Who We Are

Alysha Beaulne, M.Cl.Sc.
Owner of Birdsong Audiology
Audiologist, Reg. CASLPO

My favourite thing about being an audiologist is being part of the incredible patient moments: the relief when a patient can comfortably have conversation again, the delight when a patient hears the birds singing, and the surprise when a patient’s tinnitus calms down. Audiologists have the privilege of being part of a patient’s journey towards better hearing.

I graduated with a Master of Clinical Science in Audiology from Western University ten years ago. My first job as an audiologist was at a small privately owned clinic in Toronto. It was a great place to launch my career and I quickly developed my diagnostic skills, working with an excellent team of audiologists and otolaryngologists.

Eventually I left that practice. I worked at different hearing aid clinics, but was unable to find a space that was a good fit. I needed the freedom to provide a wide range of services, more treatment options, and a higher level of patient care. The jam-packed schedule of quick appointment was leaving me burnt out and jaded.

At Birdsong Audiology, I strive to provide a compassionate space where you can feel comfortable to express your hearing needs, frustrations, and successes. I am committed to providing accurate hearing assessments, comprehensive treatment options, and ongoing rehabilitative services. I am so excited to be able to offer a variety of audiology services that I never could have before.

When I’m not at work, I spend my time with my husband and two kids. We moved to Muskoka during the craziness of 2021 and love being members of this community. We spend most of our time at the beach, baking sweets, finding new plants to grow, and visiting local festivals.

Our Values

  • Hearing aids are fit to your hearing prescription using real ear measurement. This ensures that hearing aids are providing a comfortable and effective amount of amplification based on your hearing. We anticipate that you will need time to habituate to hearing treatment and build it into our standard of care. We anticipate the changes in hearing that occur over time and have routine appointments to address this. We use outcomes measures to ensure that treatment is meeting your needs.

  • We focus on performing comprehensive assessments and spend time with you to discuss your priorities and options. We know that hearing treatment requires ongoing care and design our schedule to accommodate your needs.

  • We are 100% independent. This means that our recommendations are based on your unique needs and nothing else. When new technology comes out, we are free to embrace it.

  • We offer flexible appointments for workers, mobile care for patients that can’t come to our office in person, and different payment options to work with your lifestyle.

  • Our hearing aid pricing includes comprehensive care and your devices for three years. Pricing is transparent and can be viewed for hearing assessments here and for hearing aid treatment here.
