Oticon’s Models & Styles

Oticon Intent

Oticon Intent uses 4D user-intent sensors to deliver personalized hearing support in real time. It analyzes your acoustic environment, detecting changes all around you; tracks head movement to understand how you're engaging in communication; monitors body movement to anticipate when enhanced spatial awareness is needed; and identifies conversation activity to prioritize speech when you're having a conversation. Together, these sensors help the hearing aids respond naturally to your listening needs as they change throughout the day.

Oticon Own

Oticon’s current custom line-up is called Oticon Own.

Oticon Styles

Custom-Fit Options
Oticon’s custom-fit hearing aids are molded specifically for your ears, offering a comfortable fit in your ear. The smallest styles - including invisible-in-the-canal and completely-in-the-canal are ideal for those who want a small hearing aid without Bluetooth connectivity, as these models use disposable batteries and are non-wireless.

In-the-canal and in-the-ear styles offer Bluetooth connectivity and use disposable batteries.

Receiver-in-the-Ear (RITE)
Oticon’s RITE hearing aids—the current generation are called “Intent”—are a versatile option for a wide range of hearing loss. They offer a great balance between aesthetics and comfort. These devices rest right behind the ear with a tiny speaker that goes into your ear canal.

Behind-the-Ear (BTE)
For those with more severe hearing loss, Oticon Xceed hearing aids offer great power and durability. These devices sit behind the ear and provide a strong level of amplification for severe to profound hearing loss. Oticon offers both an adult and pediatric line-up of their devices.

Oticon’s Technology Levels

Oticon hearing aids come in four distinct technology levels: Essential (4), Standard (3), Advanced (2), and Premium (1). Each level is designed to cater to various lifestyle needs and hearing requirements. Regardless of the chosen level, all Oticon devices deliver outstanding sound quality across a broad range of hearing loss when properly fit using real ear measurements (REM). This process ensures that the hearing aids provide an appropriate amount of amplification, customized for your unique ear characteristics. This allows you to have good audibility across all pitches, which is crucial for speech understanding.

While every technology level works well in quiet surroundings, studies do indicate that advanced and premium models of hearing aids improve comfort in noisy environments and increase satisfaction during group conversations. When given a choice, many users prefer the sound quality of advanced and premium devices.

At Birdsong Audiology, we do real ear measurement at every fitting and we work with you to get the best results out of any technology level you choose.
